Day-by-Day Journey
Day 1 – Arrival in Tanzania
Land at Kilimanjaro International Airport where your Tanzania Wild Expeditions guide will greet you. Transfer to Arusha and overnight at Four Points by Sheraton Arusha – The Arusha Hotel.

Day 2 – Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
After breakfast, drive to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of spectacular wildlife viewing. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending to the crater rim for your overnight stay at Ngorongoro Simba Public Campsite.

Day 3 – Simba Campsite to Nainokanoka Village
Walk to the Olmoti Crater for panoramic views and the Munge River waterfalls. This area is the source of the Munge River that drains into Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 4 – Trek to Empakaai Crater
Pack your gear onto donkeys—known locally as “Maasai Land Rovers”—and set off on foot across open highlands with Maasai escorts. Pass indigenous villages, the Elbulbul Depression, and herds of zebra and wildebeest. Birdwatchers will love this stretch.

Day 5 – Empakaai Crater to Nayobi Village
Wake early to catch the sunrise over Empakaai Crater Lake, then trek along the rim to Nayobi Village. Stop for lunch and refill your bottles before heading to Elerai Special Campsite under shady acacia trees.

Day 6 – Rift Valley Descent to Lake Natron
Walk down into the Great Rift Valley with breathtaking views of Lake Natron, Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano, and the Serengeti plains. A vehicle will meet you and transfer you to World View Campsite to relax.

Day 7 – Explore Lake Natron
Spend a full day at the flamingo-filled soda lake. Walk across salt-crystal flats, hike to waterfalls in a deep gorge, and visit a Maasai village. For the adventurous, an optional strenuous night climb of Ol Doinyo Lengai (the “Mountain of God”) can be arranged.

Day 8 – Farewell Tanzania
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before driving back to Arusha via the Great Rift Valley, passing Lake Manyara. Lunch and shopping time included. A day room is provided so you can freshen up before your evening transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
